Internships are a great way to gain experience, network, and oftentimes internships lead into a full time job. Below are some tips about internships:
Meet with an advisor in Internatioanl Student Services & Advising - Before beginning an internship search, we suggest that you consult an advisor at International Student Services & Advising regarding your visa status and the paperwork involved to do the internship. They also offer workshops about the different visas and answer your questions.
Once you have an offer for an internship position, you will then need to consult an OSU International Student Advisor to ensure that your internship position meets with legal requirements.
Check out the Internship Search Checklist - This checklist provides a great starting point about the internship search process and what it entails. You don't necessarily have to do everything on the list but it will definitely get you going in the right direction.

Meet with a Career Counselor to go over the internship search process - A career counselor can assist you with the internship search process including where to find opportunities, how to network, get your application materials ready, and go over interviewing.
Check out Global Expertise Oregon (GEO) - GEO is an Oregon-based global internship program designed to enhance the global outreach of Oregon business, industry and organizations, strengthen export opportunities, and advance new international connections for Oregon while providing global interns with professional internship opportunities in Oregon.
The program is a collaboration of Oregon University System International Programs, international university partners around the world and Oregon business, industry and non-profit organizations.
